Govinda accidentally shoots himself; admitted to Mumbai hospital

Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was rushed to a Mumbai hospital earlier today after accidentally shooting himself in the leg. The accident took place at the actor’s residence during the wee hours of Thursday while he was preparing to leave for Kolkata. Read on to know the details of the incident and his condition now.

As per media reports, Govinda sustained the injury when his revolver misfired and the bullet logged into his leg. The incident took place at the actor’s residence as the actor was preparing to leave for Kolkata. The actor’s manager has confirmed that the bullet has been removed from the actor’s leg. He also added that his condition is now stable.

Talking about the incident, Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha said, “We had a 6 am flight to catch for a show in Kolkata and had reached the airport. Govinda ji was about to leave his residence for the airport when this accident happened.” He added, “He was keeping his licensed revolver in the case when it fell from his hand and a bullet got fired which hit his leg.”

Sharing an update about the actor’s condition, Sinha said, “The doctor has removed the bullet and his condition is fine. He is in the hospital right now.”

A Mumbai Police spokesperson informed ANI that Govinda is fine and the injury is not serious. They confirmed that the actor was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
